Where are the courses?

Find space to breathe

The courses happen in the stunning surroundings of the Alpujarras in Southern Spain. The Bohemian town of Órgiva and its surrounds are well renowned for being not only a location of outstanding natural beauty but also a place of immense creativity. The town is a favoured retreat for many artists, musicians and writers from all over the world. With its clean air and beautiful scenery, it has been the source of inspiration for the creative mind for centuries. Several well known, professional authors, musicians and actors have made this area their home.

And when you are not writing, the town is only thirty minutes from the coast and fifty minutes from the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Órgiva has easy access from the international airports of Granada, Málaga and Almeria. Pickups can be arranged on request.

Explore the area on horseback

Other activities in the immediate area include horse-back treks, yoga, meditation, visiting massage, dance and breath work. We can usually arrange special discounts for these activities for our clients.

Accommodation will be arranged to suit in a local hotel with inspirational views, magnificent gardens and welcoming swimming pool. The restaurant is well regarded as one of the best in the Alpujarras.

For a day out, we would recommend the Cultural Heritage Site of the Alhambra Palace in Granada, just 40 minutes away. This spectacular palace is the second most visited site in Europe and many travel to Spain simply to visit here.

A day at the beach without stress

For a day out at the beach, the nearby resort of Almuñécar offers endless beaches and beautiful coves. This is a lively Spanish town with a wide variety of restaurants, entertainment and shopping yet still maintaining an air of quiet dignity. No ‘All-you-can-drink’ venues here.

Granada Ski Resort

For the really energetic and brave, we have the Ski Slopes of Granada about an hour away, where the season usually runs from November through to early June. Or maybe take a guided walk up the Mulhacén Mountain, the highest peak in Mainland Spain.

The local street market

Or maybe you just want to relax and enjoy the town. Órgiva offers a wide variety of activities including Yoga, Dance, Breath work, Tai Chi and Music of all sorts. For shopping, we have vibrant weekly street market and a wide selection of artisan shops, or for a quiet drink or meal, you will find over twenty local bars which serve a wide selection of refreshments and locally sourced  food. This region is also the only area of Spain where traditional Tapas, small plates of food, are served free with a drink. This is a lovely, relaxed way of sampling local cuisine and for the price a one or two drinks, one has had a good lunch!

And if you’re fortunate, you visit may coincide with one of the many fiestas we have here each year!
